Not Guilty Verdict by Jury; Judge Dismisses Remaining Charge
In a case alleging possession with intent to distribute cocaine and brandishing a firearm, the jury heard testimony from several law enforcement officers and a forensic scientist. After deliberating, the jury found the defendant not guilty of both charges. On the remaining charge of possession of firearm by a convicted felon, the judge granted the defendant's double jeopardy motion precluding the Commonwealth from trying that offense based on collateral estoppel.
